The Lehighton, Pennsylvania community is mourning the passing of Thomas A. Zimmerman Jr., 91, a respected businessman, community servant, and longtime leader of Zimmerman’s Dairy. His passing marks the loss of a man whose life was defined by family, dedication, hard work, and service to others.
Tom’s journey with Zimmerman’s Dairy began in 1960 when he joined his father in the family business. He became the owner in 1966 and later moved the dairy operation to Lehighton in 1968. He continued leading the company for decades, serving as president from 1975 until his retirement in 2021, leaving behind a legacy built through commitment and leadership.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tom devoted countless years to helping his community. He served as a Scoutmaster with Troop 106, worked as an EMT, helped establish Penn Mahoning Ambulance, and volunteered as a firefighter. He was also a longtime member of the Mahoning Township Lions Club, serving for 65 years and as the organization’s last surviving charter member.
Tom’s faith was another important part of his life, as he was a devoted member of Peoples E.C. Church. Through his work, volunteer service, and relationships with others, he made a lasting impact on many lives.
