Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho, was briefly placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after authorities responded to a false report, prompting a police presence at the school.
According to West Ada School District leaders, the lockdown lasted about half an hour before police determined that the report was false. Meridian Police said the school was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution and confirmed there was no threat.
The incident prompted concern in the community as locals reported seeing a large police presence around the school. The precautionary lockdown was lifted once authorities determined there was no ongoing danger.
Rocky Mountain High School has since returned to normal school operations. The brief lockdown was ultimately connected to a false report, with no continuing threat reported to students or staff.
